Leather grips
I am a little bit of a perfectionist myself and if they are good enough for me, that is all that matters.

I discovered I am going to have to redo the wraps because the laces are not fitting perfectly in the crotch of my hand, between thumb and fingers. I need to rotate the laces approx. 3/8" up on the grip, for maximum comfort.
Rest assured, for you OCD perfectionists out there, I will do my best to make sure the laces are consistent and symmetrical. LOL!
How do I explain .... On the first two holes closest to the switch pack , lay the lace across the two holes ( side by side ) then feed each end into each hole ( inwards ) , then cross them on the underside , then feed the ends out of the next set of holes , you'll notice that the next set should be the good side up and so on .
I hope this works for you !

A couple on here were getting finicky, I think, about the laces not being perfectly tensioned or symmetrical, if I understand their comments correctly. I thought that was a little OCD. I also do not mean any disrespect for anyone that is OCD. My wife is OCD so I live with it every day and have come to understand that it is not something you can control or just dismiss. I do consider myself a perfectionist with my craftmanship maybe just shy of being OCD and admitted that the left grip was slightly less perfect than the right one so I will be redoing them to adjust the lace position as mentioned in previous post.
I have come to expect a little back and forth banter/ criticism on this forum, keeps it interesting.
but I admit being told to shove my attitude up my ***, by another poster, was a little uncalled for, but I don't take it personal and can just laugh it off.
Again, thank you for your input.

Myself not a fan of laces hanging down. As for orientation, I wonder if the laces should face the ground, which would be least contant with hand, not out as suggested. But I have never tried a set to know.
Maybe give them a whir. Though concerned they won't work as well with heater or have to crank up shortening lifespan. Probably over thinking.
I laugh how people throw OCD around.
