not to be mean, but unless your bike requires it due to high compression ratio running anything over the recommended octane will not give you better performance, and in some cases will reduce performance. That being said, as concerns more power on tap, sometimes its just nice to know its there. I cannot help but modify everything I get. I strip off reflectors, but add more lighting. I immediatly change the stock exhaust and air filter. Usually rip off the top end and do a big bore kit and add cams within six months of owning a new bike. My mods cost nothing cause I either trade or wait till I find an idiot on ebay(theres plenty). My new 600 exhaust cost me 60 bucks from dennis kirk scratch and dent sale. 90% off. Theres lotsa 90% off stuff on there. I'm a modifying junkie. I even cant leave the wifes bike alone. I've even repainted and pinstriped my rudubg lawnmower. I need help.
My engine is stock compression, and it just likes 94 better than 91. I ran a few tanks of 91 through it, and I noticed a drop in performance. So for the extra 3 cents/liter, I'll stick with the high octane juice.

As to the topic at hand: sometimes I like to go fast, and when I hit the throttle, I go fast! Plus the extra power has helped me avoid a couple of potential wrecks too.

Cheers!

My favorite of any HD's
I read there were only a total of 4500 FXDXT's built over it's 3 year run. As a 103 with the right mods it suits me better than the other sport touring bikes I've tried. Cost? More; but whatever...

Well...what would be the point of the forums if you didn't talk about faster horses, older whiskey, younger women and more money???

Not recent. I'll get one tomorrow and post it. It's luxury blue w/stage 1, SE II slip-ons and just a little bit o' chrome. I was wondering just how many were made, only 4500...hmmm I've only seen 2 in the last 6 yrs I've owned mine.
