You have got to be kidding me!!! So now we are gonna critique how people start and stop??? [sm=headbang.gif] Geeze will this stupid chit ever end. Maybe there are reasons why people do what they do. Personally I plant both feet when I stop because I have a bad left knee that can give out on me without warning. If someone wants to bust on me about it I'll be glad to put the foot that is below my bad knee right up their azz while balancing myself on my good one.
If you can't mention yourthoughts on a forum, why go there?
What's the biggie that someome wants to comment on rider form. I also notice these things myself and I try to do it the way Whappdescribes. He's not attacking anyone, just a comment/observation.
And I happen to agree.

No biggie at all. People can comment on anything they want in an open forum. And I didn't say he was attacking anybody. But why people feel the need to critique how people dress, ride, wave, stop, start, park or scratch their butts is beyond me. Worry a little more about yourself than what other people are doing.
"I think nothing looks neater" and "performing different functions in at least aprofessional looking manner" when talking about riding. C'mon now.
It takes time to learn and become comfortable handling thier bike the way they should. If the person is dedicated tobecoming more proficient and rides a lot they will soon be making fun of other people. If they ride 1000 miles a year they will probably continue dragging thier feet.

My wife still walks the bike around in tight parking spaces because it makes her feel more in control even though most of us know that this is not really true. She looks a little tentative doing it, but she gets the job done.
As far as it being a newby thing, she has more miles on her rainsuit that a big percentage on this forum have riding.
I can stop and start pretty clean when i'm alone,.....but with the bike loaded,...and OL on the back,......sometimes my judgement is off ,.....taking off is clean ,...but stopping with a heavy load,....i don't always hit the mark.
