wow,...I'm glad I didn't have enough sh*t to worry about,...

Pre ride checklist-

1- proper T-shirt
2- not on a girls bike (sporty,deluxe)
3- not too much black leather
4-not smiling like a poser, wannabee etc
5-not blipping pipes
6-have to wave at everyone
7-not wearing a rolex (rub)
8-oh no , too many saddlebags (geezer glide)
9-hope my boots are o.k.
10-are my pipes too loud?
11-are my pipes not loud enough?
12-do I have the proper downloads/stage 1/ pc3?
13-hope no one notices the fringe on my bars
14- should I have a patch on my back?
15-where should I put my feet?
16-am I taking this turn too fast? or not fast enough to scrape?
17-should I wear these fingerless gloves?
18-is my doo rag on properly?
19-is my doo rag too gay?
20-hmmmm did I put one foot down? or both? am I duck walking?

OK Seth, here's my pre-ride list: I did get a laugh from yours, 'cause it's sadly true

1) Any T-shirt will do - It's needed to gain admittance into the 7-elevenor Dairy Queen
2) Who cares what you ride, as long as you're riding
3) Leather is good as long as you don't look like the lead singerfrom Judas Priest
4) Smile - you're supposed to have fun
5) Defintely, no blipping pipes
6) Wave at your own descretion. This also goes for the one-finger salute
7) Wear any brand of watch that tells accurate time (no grandfather clocks please)
8) If you're touring, you can't have enough saddlebags
9) No tennis shoes or sandals - Buy a good boot
10) Personal preference (I don't care for loud pipes, but that's just me)
11) See # 10
12) If you stay stock, don't worry about it. If not, don't worry about it
13) No fringe allowed unless you're a native American or female
14) We don't need no stinkin' patches (Kidding! Patches are OK)
15) Feet go on the pegs unless they're not on the pegs, then they go where you place them
16) Take curves at the pace you feel comfortable. If you miss the curve, pray
17) Always wear gloves when riding (In the summer, I do wear fingerless)
18) Do rags are OK, but not the kind Brett Michaels from Poison wears. See #19
19) Do rags on men: Don't wear pink, lavendar, or mauve. Don't wear a rockstar rap.
20) See #15

the leather is cool....jes don't have the big ol riveted nut cup over yer chaps. the rubs will wig and post all about it

make sure no one sees yer trailer around the corner from bike nite
no bras on the bich. every real biker knows that the ol ladies gotta hang free
make sure to ask every 1%er ya see if it's cool to hang with em.....get the list of do's and don'ts in writing. call all yer buddies and tell em who yer hangin with. make sure to git pictures

call everyone ya see a rub, poser or wannabe. suck in the gut, puff out the chest and do your damndest to look badder than the next puter geek that shows up

I recently read an article in one of my bike magazines (Rider I think) and the author talked about people doing the duck walk. If memory serves he didn't make it sound like it came from a lack of experience or that it was viewed as wrong in any way.

I agree that it looks like you're much more experienced if you don't do it, but I guarantee everybody does it from time to time depending on the condition of the road or how familiar they are with a given bike. I know that if you ever see me doing a sharp turn on gravel, you'll also see my inside foot at the ready.

I locked the throttle on my old sporty, sat indian style on the tank and folded my arms. Is that proper etiquette?
It all depends on which way you were facing. Were you sitting side saddle?

Seth - Your list was good for a laugh.

Yikes! I'm in violation of over half of the "pre-ride checklist."
