Default Duck Walk

I've got to mention what is probably my biggest pet peeve when it comes to riders. The Duck Walk. Nothing looks more "newbie" than to see someone take off from a stop flailing their legs all about and/or dragging their feet like a pair of outriggers. I think nothing looks neater than to see someone take off from a stop and instantly put both their feet up on their pegs/boards at the same time. Likewise, when coming to a stop, put the left foot down and stop at the same time without having to move the foot once it's been planted.

I guess I have a thing about performing different functions in at least aprofessional looking manner.

I notice this, too. I found this very easy on the Sporty but the RoadKing is another story. I'm constantly making small adjustments to the bars as I come to a stop. The hardest is with loaded bags, tourpak and the OL on the back.

You have got to be kidding me!!! So now we are gonna critique how people start and stop??? [sm=headbang.gif] Geeze will this stupid chit ever end. Maybe there are reasons why people do what they do. Personally I plant both feet when I stop because I have a bad left knee that can give out on me without warning. If someone wants to bust on me about it I'll be glad to put the foot that is below my bad knee right up their azz while balancing myself on my good one.

We all like to look cool when riding the scoot, some just do it better than others.

What looks even "cooler" is is when riders come to a stop and put no feet down!

....what about when you're at a stop sign behind a line of cars? ...do you put your feet on the pegs to move 1 car length?, or do you just pick them up high enough to clear the pavement while you roll forward slowly...?

Just curious...

I only duck walk when getting in/out of parking spaces. I may be a newbie, but I've now conquered the "two feet on the pegs when I take off" maneuver.

So dragging my inboard foot on sweeping turns on the interstate isn't cool looking?
