I won't buy anything fromsomeone who doesn't have paypal or something I can't go pick up myself. Bought lots of stuff off there and haven't gotten burned yet.

Rule of thumb: If it sounds too good to be true, it usually is!!![sm=signs003.gif]

I've been on ebay for 10 years and have never been burned once. As far as not using Paypal alot of people don't because the fees have gone through the roof. My rule of thumb is get a Postal money order. They are alot easier to trace. That is all I have ever used when not using Paypal.

One thing you need to always do, after checking the sellers feedback of course, is to read through the auction thoroughly so there is no problems or surprises after you have already won.

50/50 chance What is his feedback %? I never buy if they have neg feedback or below 99 positive feedback. Also a paypal account is a must IMO! I would "NEVER" give him my CC # or use a money order. Post orIM me the url so I can take a look for ya and give you my opinion.

I personally have bought 2 high dollar items off ebay over 40k each with no issues. My rule is simple: if they have over 100 feedback and have sold items with ZERO negatives, I'll buy from them. Anything less and I don't even bother....as for Paypal, the fees suck but your covered on small items up to 200 bucks and it speeds up the transaction which to me makes up for their crappy fee's...

I use ebay quit often. I perfer to pay by paypal. I bought i item that never showed and paypal reversed the charges. I have bought items as little as 10 bucks and all the way up to my convertible vette(I traded it for my 08 ultra) Make sure you check the feedback % before buying off anyone.

I use ebay a lot not only check the feedback but how long have they been a member. Check what kind of items they have sold. Are most of the feedbacks from sellers or buyers.

Watching the buyer and seller's history and rating is very important!

I'll second the PayPal, at least seller should have an account; and the positive feedback = 99.8 or better.
I was looking at some goggles the other night & the seller was in the 98.4% category. First line of feedback was, "Liar, thief, deals in stolen merchandise." Read no further.
Buying larger items, I require a phone number & address. Also will exchange a few emails to hopefully verify a "real person." I read one caution on this site that said to get a fax copy of the title if you're buying a motorized vehicle. Good advice. Credit card for a substantial Power Seller or On-line store I find acceptable. Can't be too careful. Just had some one email me expressing an interest in buying an large ticket item I had listed that did not sell. Only way I'll do that is re-list the item - haven't heard back from him.

Have over 75 transactions of eBay never had a problem only had to send one thing back just make sure what the return policy is and there feedback rating is the most important factor but if they are a high item seller you can expect a few unhappy customers you aren't going to please everybody all the time just take a few minutes and read trough what most of the buyers had to say in the feedback. but nothing is a 100 percent and if you go trough the post office with a money order you can get insurance in case something does happen.
