I ride with and without a windshield it depends on what time of year and where and how far I'm going.

I have been on street bikes since 1980, and never owned one with a faring of any type...buy for the two or three GPz1100's with that bikini/cafĂŠ stylefaring that just goes around yourheadlight and has a tiny windshield.

I have been thinking about scoring a Electra Glide Classic....or a RoadKing(I dont want a Tour-Pack)......I want a radio and a bunch of doo-dads to mess around with when on long rides. I can cruise all day long at 70MPH with no windshield on the highway, but like someone said, I can ride longer and with less fatigue if I had one.......I would never put one of those quick detach ones on a Deuce.....espically a Screamin Eagle Deuce. The Fatboy though, I think lends itself a bit more tothe look of a windshield.....I just wouldn't put oneon my bike though.

the fatboy with a windshield and bags is, essentially, a Heritage. And ain't nothing wrong with that.

hell, if the documentary I saw on tv is correct, even Sonny Barger rides a Road King now. Go figure it.

Used to call em garbage wagons.

i live in kentucky and ride almost year round, (i dont ride to work when the snow is falling). i like the windshield, yeah it's fun to ride around town in the summer without it, but it seems alot less tiring on long rides if the shield is on, and less bugs on my shirt, face, etc.

Whenever I think, "Man my bike looks cool without a windshield, I should take this damn thing off." I take it off, ride a couple hundered miles and then say"Oh yeah, that's why." Then I put it back on.

For short rides it isn't bad especially in Aug, to have the windsheild off. But more often that not I keep it on. March, April, May, Sept, Oct, Nov usually are to cold in the mornings coming home from work without it. And since I ride in whatever comes at me as long as it isn't below 0 or snow/ice, it keeps a lot of crappy weather from my face. I guess I'm soft in my old age.
