Got the quick release for my dyna, used it maybe a couple times, took it off and never put it back on. 3-400 mile day trips, no problem, weekend trips, rain, doens't matter, I really don't care much fora windshield. Besides, my bike looks SO much better without it
Once you get used to tunes, there's no going back. I've had bar-mounts and frame-mounts, I prefer to be the only one in control of my handlebars. RoadGlide for sure!
Road King with detachable fairing. In town or short rides I take it off. Long rides it helps to have the extra protection. Plus having some tunes to listen to doesnt hurt either.
Road King with police size windshield. Rode a while without it, now it only comes off when washed. Im thinking of converting the bike to a Road Glide. Ive seen a few on here that have converted their Electra Glide so it cant be that bad.
My windshield is on order from Surdyke.com. I purchased a quick-detachable, but I intend on keeping it on all the time. Better for bugs to be splat on the shield than on my chest.

That's what my mp3 player is for.
No windshield or fairing for my bike. I've got a snap-on face shield for my helmet when it rains hard, and I just try to keep my mouth shut when the bugs are out in force. [:'(]

Well, I can see having tunes when you on a long trip, but I ride with a friend who rides some kind of fairinged, batwinged, bagged and windshielded Roadmonster Gliding Super Delux or something like that and he plays his radio so load that at a stop light I can barely hear my pipes, and they are open. Very annoying. He also says once you have tunes you never go back. Frankly, my exhaust notes are all the music I need.
