No windshield here. I wear a full face helmet and I barely feel the wind.

I have one with and one without windshield & fairing. Love 'em both. The Dyna with no shield has been on many long trips and many rainy rides. I don't mind getting wet and an occasional bug in the face, but I enjoy the Ultra too. Couldn't part with either one.

I have a quick release windshield for my Sportster that I use only when I'm going to be on the interstates for any length of time. Otherwise, it stays in the garage. I absolutely hate the look of a windshield on my bike, but it beats getting the crap beat out of me for hours at 70+ mph and smearing bug guts all over my face shield. It ain't about being tough or looking cool. I'm tough where it counts (riding withouta windshield didn't make the list), and there ain't nothing that's going to make me look cool, so I went for comfort.

I like my batwing for a number of reasons, many of which have been mentioned. On the one bike I've owned without a fairing, a seagull dropped me a calling card that landed on my left shoulder. Bird doody does amazing things to leather - none of 'em good. I like the rain protection you get if you're fast enough and the rain is light enough - you don't have to stop to get out the rainsuit.

One big thing I like has nothing to do with protection from wind/rain/bugs/bird poop. On the batwing, the gauges are up where I can see them. I don't have to look as far down.

I have the Convertible windshield that came with my FXR, but I never have it on, maybe for long highway trips, but I hate it around town.

Batwing on my SG, one of the reasons I bought it. Nice protection, and TUNAGE! Little teeny fairing on the ZRX, that is leaving when I convert to round headlight.. nothing on the 250, and if there is another jap or german bike in the future it will not have one...

Like the batwing, but no prob riding windy... Long day in the saddle? Nothing better to be behind, IMHO, than a batwing.

Riding with a windshiel is like taking a shower with your clothes on, or more graphically, sex with a condum.
