With the square hole at a different angle?
Amazon wants $13 for the original, I paid $20 for the altered one, eh.
In the world of Harley-Davidson prices that's nothing.

I never thought I would think of my Honda Magna as small but it seems small to me now. Feet on pegs with your knees kind of up in your chin. And it's an 1100 cc.
It's a 1983 (my third one) in great condition with historical plates I'd hate to sell it but you're right I don't see me riding it much anymore.
I wouldn't sell it. Can't have to many bikes. Need a new tire, go ride the other bike. I have two electra glides. I like that bike, so it is nice have two. One needs something ride the other. I leave my work gear in one, and ride the other. I also like riding my Road King, and maybe someday will have something smaller. For me its tough riding a bike without storage. This part of country it is rare not to have jacket on in morning and evening. Bags always have chaps, jacket, and hoodie. If a guy lived in town it would be different I suppose.

That's all good for the recent gen of owners, some of us been around this block long before they paved it.

50 years dealing harleys I've never seen one deliberately made at a different angle, the stand arm itself yeah you watched those and understand the factory uses several suppliers for every part like this. Lots of the stamped stops did vary, sometimes a lot due to **** poor quality chicom imported nonsense but they worked, lay out the several I have and every one is slightly different, why the old hands kept a few around, mix & match to get what you needed.

And an FYI the only difference in the current gen kickstand arm the moco is using now is they use a bolt down into square to hold the tab on (bad design, they tend to twist out) instead of stud & nut the old ones used, isn't the first they did this but management is famous for short memories. I think later about I'll get a picture of them in a row for show & tell, it's that obvious.

That is where the fore and aft motion is coming from. The tab is quite a bit smaller than the slot it sets into, so the bike can move several inches before the locking tab hits the wall of the slot.

If the tab were fatter, there would be less fore and aft motion of the stand. Use a taper to make iteasier to get the fatter tab into the slot.

It's a simple enough piece, and one could make their own to experiment with. Cutting the inner square will be a bit of pain, but far from impossible. If you came up with a good design, you could sell it on Amazon and ebay. You'll get ripped off by others, patented or not.

And if you'd ever like to meet one of the worse kickstands ever made, look at an old small block Moto Guzzi. The stand is tiny, and only set off from the centerline by a few inches. It also auto-retracts. It's a lovely, basically useless stand.

The side stands on my 1979 10000SP, and my 1985 LeMans IV, I was told was to help get off the bike, and then use the center stand.

The Moto Guzzi California's models use a HD side stand.
