Since talking with them did nothing and you ended up buying the sert yourself after the fact, I would find a new place to do business with. I would also let the manager know of your decision and why you made it.
I went down to the local dealer, after many weeks of shopping around for a bike I settled on a new 2005 Road Glide. At the time of my purchase I had a 95" big bore kit with stage 2 203 cams, stage one SE air cleaner and SE pro slip-ons installed. Now the bike runs like crap between 1500 and 2500 RPM, missing. It is also popping on decel from any speed. I called the dealer and was told I needed to get a race tuner and some dino time to make it run right. "Am I missing something", I was told before I installed this stuff that it was covered under warranty. Doesn't the warranty cover the damn thing running right without spending another $777? I guess I must be missing something.
But I do love my new bike. its a blast to ride.
I had this same setup done to my TC88. Also, NO race tuner, DFO, or dyno needed. It runs like a raped ape compared to stock. Now has about 9000k on it and it pulls strong from idle to top rpm, and no obnoxious pop on decel. I think the dealer makes the differance. When we talked about it, I put it in their hands, they matched the components to work. Well satisfied.
Didn't you post something about this prior to doing the motor upgrade. The SERT is the only way to go. I've posted this many, many times here. You can't use the HD Download if you want your bike to run right. Even my dealer doens't use it anymore. You need to find a dealer who knows what they are doing and then have them dyno it with the SERT and iron out your problems. It is an easy fix if the tech is profecient on the dyno. If not..............

Ya I think I did Terry, but the dealer talked me out of it. Like I said earlier in this post I should have known better than to listen to them. I ordered my SERT, should be here soon, I'll take the bike down and have the dyno tune accomplished as soon as it gets here. $80.00 an hour for dyno time, they said it would take about 3 hours to accomplish.
