Default New Harley Sprint is coming at "under $6,000"

A new small-displacement bike is coming to the US for the 2026 model year, it'll be named after the Aermacchi-era Sprint, and it'll cost under $6,000. Oh, and a cruiser version will follow.

It'll be shown at the dealer meeting in October. Speculation is that it may be unveiled to the public at EICMA in November.

“Inspired by our heritage and the spirit of the iconic Harley Davidson Sprint motorcycle, this new bike embodies boldness, irreverence and fun, capturing the rebellious energy that defines the Harley-Davidson experience,” says Zeitz. “Scheduled for release in 2026 and for presentation to our global dealer network in October, I’m pleased to share that we’re targeting an entry price below $6,000 We believe this motorcycle will not only be highly accessible, but also profitable, marking a significant step forward in driving Harley-Davidson’s future profitable growth and opening up a new path in motorcycle segment for the company in future years for its key markets.”

My guess is it will look like crap...with an even worse looking rear fender.

Poor thing will probably be doomed from the start (Buell Blast, Street 500, Street 750, V-Rod, etc.). I love Sportsters to death, but remember the old saying: " There's Harley riders, then there's Sportster riders".

Street 500 and 750 again. Good bikes to ruin on the MSF courses. They can add this one to the fleet. They need a small displacement unit constructed M8 at an affordable price to correctly replace the sportster. Not the revolution

I’ll wish them luck. They will need it.

It'll be $10,000 out the door by the time the dealer adds all the taxes and fees.
When the Royal Enfield Himalayan came out it was priced at $3900. I was going to buy one until the local dealer added $1,800 in shipping, setup, doc fees, taxes and license plates. It was going to be $5,700 out the door.
I just shook my head, told them no thanks, and left.

My girlfriend in 1972 gushed about some new fella’s “Harley”.

It was a Sprint.
