I picked up a screw about a week after getting new tires (of course!), between the treads too. Used a rope plug and it's held air for several months now. Was a little concerned cause I couldn't really cut the rope off down between the treads, but, it seems to be okay. I'll probably take it in for a tire rotate during Thanksgiving break and have an inside patch done at the time.

That rabbit hole already goes far deeper than even hardcore tin hats crew believe, Real ID was just a test run to condition people for the real lease coming. Been warned about that, can’t say where or who.

I've never had a string plug fail. Ever. I've used them on everything from 40" mud tires (multiple plugs for big holes) to a thin sportbike tire. They've all held until treadwear dictated replacement. I bought a 'Stop N Go' mushroom plug kit once, the lube on the plugs dried up and the install tool broke when I tried to use it.
