Default Nail plug.

I ordered some rubber nail screw plugs. From Amazon. We are all being monitored. On face book. I am being bombarded with ads for rubber screw plugs. Same with any thing I order from anywhere. Big Brother is everywhere in every facet of our lives .. No tin foil hat needed.

We dumped FB years ago, and I don't have nearly as many "monitor experiences" with Duck Duck Go, and its search engine. Google was bad.

My phone listens to me more than anything. Totally random things that we discussed at work showing up in my email "on sale"

I have done all the iPhone tin-foil mic shut-offs that I can find

I don't sweat Big Brother as much as I do Big Corp. The gov't already has my number. I have filled out too many firearm tax stamp applications to hide now!

These damn companies trying to sell me every damn thing just bothers me, though.

Yeah true, but who cares.
I mean that's what I ask the conspiracy theory nut acquaintances I know when they start talking that way.
What are you doing you're so afraid it's going to be found out?
I don't care if I'm being monitored. Whatever.
I'll buy what I want when I want from who I want.

However I don't understand how these ads that follow you around would work for or be beneficial to a company.
Companies usually do what works for them, they wouldn't advertise like they do if it didn't profit them.
So I buy a shed online from home on my phone and the ads appear for sheds on my work computer I'm not going to buy it I already just bought one.
That I don't get.

These ads show up whether you bought a shed or not, so if you're still undecided, some random ad may just tempt you to make the purchase. The phone listening by itself is out of line IMO.

You gave corporations permission to do all that "monitoring" when you agreed to the user agreement.

Sure it does. Alexa, Ziggy and echo, in my house sure do also.
I never saw an ad for a storage shed before I bought one But that wasn't anything listening, it was the fact and record of by buying one.
What I'm saying is I don't care, if I did care I would not use those devices, change browsers or whatever. I don't care let them listen.
What I'm also saying is I don't see how this benefits them the way they do it - showing you ads for items you already bought.
Oh no that's happening all the time, your Alexa device (if you have one) is listening all the time and that info is being sold.
Again, who cares?

You can shut off the phones response to you, but it is still listening and reporting.

If you youngsters would stay out of trouble, you wouldn't need to worry about it....

Just roll your own.

I don't think those would really work.
I've found best results with the Reynolds heavy duty double-sided foil. Made in the US.
That cheap stuff from China just amplifies the signals.
Fits nicely under your helmet too.

(Same mentality against the China products a lot of guys have for the made in the USA Harley stamped products - that are mostly made in China anyway).
