I know this ain't earth shattering, but this source for oil filters is an alternative for dealership OEM, plus it has a welded nut on end to assist on removal like the K&N 171, but with the extra length for the M8. https://www.jpcycles.com/product/mil...bG3Ey2PaYnByWw
With shipping, it ends up being same price as dealership, just more convenient for us country bumpkins.
For me......... I'd be more likely to lean into a brand name like K&N or HifloFiltro for my filters with a nut. Not saying that Milwaukee Twins Oil Filters are bad, I've just not heard of them and the Hiflo's are cheaper......
EDIT- It appears, after further looking, this filter is one of the longer style filters that the MoCo uses on the M8's. That is a different animal as far as pricing, but I still question their quality and history.

yup yup yup. I've used K&N 171 several times, but frickin Harley ***** their pants if you're not using the longer one. IDK, just throwing it out there today for opinions.
shittin their pants is obviously an exaggeration, but on a recent trip to parts department at one of the bigger HD dealerships in norcal, I asked about the K&N 171b and got bluster like " that's for the twin cam", not the M8.
