Just received carbon fiber helmet -- is this normal?
If you have a carbon fiber helmet from ACC, please take a look at yours and compare to mine. If you notice in the picture, the straps are much further back on theright side of the picture than on the left. Also, compare the spaces between the straps on the left and the right (where I'm pointing). When I put the helmet on, my ear fits in the space between the straps on the right side, but because the straps are so close on the left, they completely cover my ear on the left side. Before I call ACC, I wanted to see if this was indeed how all the helmets are made or if I happened to get a dud. Thanks!
RE: Just received carbon fiber helmet -- is this normal?
Just checked my ACC helmet. Straps are positioned and spaced proportionately on either side. Based on your pic, they are definitely way off. Looks like that one slipped by quality control. On the plus side, they are an excellent company to deal with. They'll make it right. Call 'em up and ask to speak with Erin.

I was thinking of buying one of these, but after looking at that, I may reconsider.
Pretty pricey to have quality like that slip through the inspectors.[8D]

Call 'em. That doesn't look right. Can you see the strap attachment points? Are they symetrical? Maybe it's just where the strap is coming out of the liner / shell that is asymetrical and you just need to work the strap to come out in the right place? I played with the straps on my ACC helmet for a while to get everything symetical and make it fit so it couldn't come off when pushed hard forward & backward. Love mine. Will never wear anything else.

If you haven't called them yet you are wasting your time. They screwed up and they will fix it by prob sending you one right out. CALL THEM.
Both wife and I have one and she LOVES hers... I am OK with it, though I defintely like it over the mushroom helmets because it looks better, doesn't catch wind as much, and is defintely lighter... I just don't find it more comfy.
