WHY IS IT ?
but yes, you see BMW riders all the time dressed to the hilt.
I don't want to where an armored jacket.......pants or whatever else is armored.
Boots...jeans......t-shirt. If I ride to the local Air Force Base they make me put on gloves.
Some bases require an orange vest.
(please do not pass anymore laws about motorcycles)
WHY IS IT that you give a f**k what other people do or wear?

Cheers!

I don't think he was asking from the perspective you think he is. He is inquiring because he (seemingly) would like the same types of protective clothing that he sees other guys wearing, but perhaps adorned in HD logos, or perhaps just offered in something other than neon. I may be wrong, but that is the way I read it. Why the hostlity anyway.[/blockquote]
Maybe when you get a little older and gain more experience with life you will outgrow being so afraid of all the bad possibilities and learn to enjoy the good things. Quit worrying about the rest of us that ride with pleasure and not fear.
Also quit posting non-factual statistics and insinuating that those same erroneous stats are available in brochures in "any" Highway Patrol office. Not true.
Perhaps you should spend less time in the metric shops and more time on the road. It might clear your head and make you less afraid.
Ride safe (some of us do not dress for safety, we ride for safety).

Your exactly right. that was my point. We have a motorcycle company that goes out of it's way to intice there buyers yet you cant find a nice jacket with CE aproved armor that has a harley logo. They do have a mesh jacket and a textile jacket but its important for you to know that neither are CE aproved and theres no back protection. In fact , Harley has the worst armor protected jackets in the market. I here a lot of talk about no jackets no helmets. You should see just one person that has had an accident at the speed of 70. Your skin peals off so fast. It goes to the bone in seconds .EVERYONE would ware protection. I've rode bikes all my life, but never seen such as the Harley riders. I cant believe I saw the day that NOT waring a helmet and protective gear would be COOL.

I don't have kids, and frankly if I wanted to ride naked and I splattered myself all over the road, that's MY business, not yours, and certainly not the government's.
So I guess you NEVER do anything remotley dangerous, like say riding a motorcycle? Get off your high horse, Mr. Safety ****!

Clammy
I don't care what everybody else does, just try to protect myself and the old lady. But every piece of protection you can git used to will only save yer as* if the time every comes. While its hot outside, go out and during the heat of the day, lay on the black top with a T-Shirt on. If you was there after a wreck, you'd pray for a leather vest no matter how hot it is.
Lets hope we never see that day.

B dog, your original post is so full of misinformation and your subsequent post is about the same.
