I thought that the 40+ crowd getting injured/killed in motorcycle accidents was due to the fact :
A- First bike ever.
B- Lack of experence
C- Lack of ability

Not because they were not wearing bubble wrap
Add in the thousands of riders getting smoked by careless/unattentive cagers too!

Guess me being 57 and riding since 64 that leaves me out. But the younger generation can ride a bike better. We just started before the laws were invented back then.
Why is it, that some riderson metrics with full protective gear onthink they are indestructable and ride down the highway at 100+ on one wheel, I was cruising along at 60 and some guy comes blasting past me like I was standing still, on one wheel, 5 sec later his braindead pal comes past the same way, scared the crap out of me, they went by pretty close. Did I mention they had on full leather suits and full face with blacked out shields, that will surely protect them when they run into the back of a truck that changes lanes. Proctective gear only goes so far, much better toride in anticipation of potential problems and ride safely and sanely, that my friend will protect you FAR more than any gear you might wear. I think some folks get a false sense of security if they are wearing full gear and take unnecessary risks because they are "protected" lol. I've been riding bikes since 1972 and what I was wearing didn't bail me out of several close calls, it was anticipation and never assuming someone saw me or would yield my right of way. Peace.

Also most 40+ riders are now knowledgeable enough to buy a real bike and not a rice bike so if they do happen to get killed on a bike chances are that most of them would be on a Harley. However, this does not mean that I believe the made up stats earlier posted. Also, I have been riding over 50 years so I am still waiting my turn.
