Got Stuck today, but fellow bikers helped out
Thanks Harley Community
I had the Sportster out today and after filling up with gas it would not start. I knew immediately that it most likely was a bad battery or other connection since I would intimitently have lights. But I had no tools. First Harley Rider tried to help but he had no tools either. Called my wife and she brought me a tool set. Then another Harley Rider stopped to help out. I'm sure I could have found and fixed the problem, but the Good Samaritan really wanted to help and knew what he was doing, so I didn't want to discourage him, and let him work. Cleaned up the battery connections and it started right up

by the way....I saw a Sporty once that somehow had attached a softail tool box to the
belt 'cover'. Where the is a will, there is way.
I one time left the house without my bike keys.....Stopped the bike and it would not restart.
I had to call the ol'lady to bring me my keys so I could unlock the tool box.

Helpin' a 2 wheeled guy or gal when they need a hand. Not only the Harley people.
1%'ers with alla the MC stuff, or indy riders with just a plain t-shirt, ifyou are coming up on a bike on the side of the road, slow and check to be sure they are OK. I just slow and give an OK gesture followed quickly by a palm up "WTF" type of sign. I've had a few wave me over. I gave what help I could, sometimes they got back on the road, sometimes they had to be trailered.
Some of y'all are wondering why I am getting into this subject so intensely? Well, about 10 yrs ago, I see what looks like a lil' guy on aYamaha 750 on the side, so when I got the wave to come back, off comes HER full-face, and she was a cutie. She was from VA and her carb was just not set up fer 8000 ft of elevation in the NM mountains. We RODE for a few days together until she went back home. I guess I tweaked her screws in the right direction! [sm=lildevil.gif]
Still talk to her to this day! She has a Night Train now, but is too busy with her company to go on long rides. AWW! ( Maybe I oughta go ta VA, I have family there! hehe!)

OK, gettin' away from the "meeting cuties on the side of the road" thang. Recent stuff. I'm just going down 2nd St, way in the South Valley (middle of nowhere for the city), and see a big ol' dude on the side messin' with his scoot, an '06 Heritage Softail. I pull over behind him, and as he looks up, he grins like a fool, and so do I. One of my old bros that I had lost contact with, maybe 7 years ago. He just had a loose plug wire. We ride together as much as we can now!
Pullin' over fer people can be great! (Of course, be ready ta shoot 'em if they are not the friendly type! LOL! )
