Good post Terry, I wanted to add one thing, the Power Commander can be adjusted (mapped) to increase or decrease (richer or leaner) the fuel mixture at any rpm or percentage of throttle, same as the SERT.

Gotta call bull$hit,.....

Power Commander's are GREAT! And if you have your bike DYNO tuned by a train tech. like many delaers have now, it'll run great!!!

Mine is Stage I downloaded, AND Power Commander III USB and tuned on the DYNO by a TRAINED tech. and runs AWESOME!!!!

Spend the money. It's money well spent. But to say that only the SERT can do it, is BULL$HIT!!!!

Gotta agree with Traveler....PC III tuned out all my pops and sneezes, and makes idle and acceleration trouble-free now. Can't wait to get it on a dyno for more fine tuning.

Hey Guys,

I didn't say the Power Commander was a piece of crap. It's the harley download that seems to be messing up everyone's bike. What I'm saying is that on a high performance engine the Race Tuner gives you more tuning options (especially on the 06's). When the 06's came out DynoJet didn't even have a map for them.

I did have a bad experience with DynoJet. There have been other posts on this forum about problems with DynoJet. I hope you guys never have yours just quit shortly after the warranty expires.

The PCIII is a good piece of equipment. I've had them both (PCIII and SERT). My bike runs much better with the Race Tuner. I like not having to stuff something under my seat. We all have to agree that with any kind of real modifications the download is not the way to go. Race Tuner or PCIII is the only way to make em run.

The SERT is better, I agree, as it has a more adjsutable setup the my PC III.

Just saying my "Susie" is running great on a Downloaded stage I, then fine tuned on the dyno by PC III

Ever try to put a PC III in a DYNA? The best part of the SERT for me would be not having to stuff a box in my already cramped area!!!!!!!! (Also could bump my redline up a little past 6200 would be cool too, as my 510G's are really coming alive at higher rev's!)[8D]

Terry,

I apologize. After reading your post this morning SOBER, I saw you were referring to the download. I like having the download on my bike, as 1. I got a bumped Redline, and 2. If my PC III dies on me, I can get home on the "band-aid fix", known as Stage I download!

SERT is the best. Problem is, my dealer has no experience with it, but they do know Power Commander! I was told by the dealer that SERT was a waste of time! So, I guess I need to call Bull$hit on them, not you!

Again, I'm sorry, ...I was enjoying "distilled spirits" last night.

No problem Joe,

It seems like EFI upgrades here are like Politics. I like not having the PCIII stuffed under the seat too. I was always worried that it was going to get damaged (which may have been what happened). My bike came with the Stage II? download (mine came with the 95 ci kit from the factory), so when it quit it kept running pretty good. Didn't realize it was dead until I took it in to get it dyno'd last summer. I just wish we could convince all these new guys to either go with a PCIII or SERT when they do their upgrades so they don't think that all Harleys are junk.

Be nice if the dealers would tell them that it's a REQUIREMENT.

Terry I'll have to sayI can tell a big difference in my bike without the PCIII usb, I guess it's where I have the 203 cams in with just a stage1 remap, I guess it needed a little more to feed the cams, but I am happy, if it would warm up a little so I ccan eenjjoy the rride. [&:] .

That's the beauty of getting the Download along with the PC III. If the darn thing dies, you can still get home!!!![&:]

Can this be done with the SERT? My guess is proably not. Terry, any comment?[&:]
