Default 95" Torque & HP?

Anybody have any dyno figures from a 95 conversion? Looking for what the typical standard HD conversion puts out. Also interested in average cost.

From a well built well thought out 95" you can pull 100/100 numbers without too much trouble.

Yeah, I've seen some 95s do that, but they were beyond the normal HD 95 conversion. Haven't seen any figures on the average MoCo conversion, and was wondering what they do.

Skip, you might was to check down in "Engine/Fuel/Intake/Exhaust." HDWRENCH might have some dyno print outs of the 95" kit; I know he has some for his 98" conversion.

I have a Stage II 95 and I'll try and post my dyno sheet tonight when I get home from work.

Getting 100/100 numbers is not hard at all. Just forget the idea of using SE parts other than the jugs and the possibly pistons. And the heads need to be cleaned up. Stock heads have alot of great potential, but as they sit stock they are huge bottlenecks. You can gain 10-15 hp from just cleaning up the heads themselves.

A great combo that works locally is to bore your stock jugs to 95"(dont waste yur money buying new jugs, just bore your current ones out to gardentee a better piston ring seal from a straighter bore)get a set of flattop pistons that will help to get you a static cr of just about 9.8:1, have your heads sent out to a good reputable head porting shop. Run a good set of cams(Like the Andrews 37g, S&S 570's or 585's, Woods TW-5G or 6HG's)and you will pretty much be garenteed 100/100 numbers with good tuning and it wont cost you an arm and a leg to do it.

Have done the Stage 1 95 inch upgrade with the Screamin' Eagle intake. At the same time added HDFR heads (machined), quick install push rods, Evo valves with heavy duty springs and high performance clutch spring. Have Vance & Hines Oval slip on mufflers with stock header. Also have installed Power Commander III and had it custom tuned. The Dyno now shows 88 hp and 94 fp torque. Was at the dealer on Saturday talking to the tech about adding high-perf. gear driven cams. He told me when I add the cams I can expect at least 105 hp.

Cams wont garentee any improvements in performance if they are not properly matched up with the running compression of your engine, and the heads arent ported well to flow the increased air volume. You need to be smart about cam selection, and you will need to know things like your head combustion chamber volume, gasket thickness, type of pistons and their specs(dome volume or a negative valve pocket value if flat tops)etc.

HP and TQ are never garenteed if your just tossing in a set of cams an not knowing if they are truely a good match for your engine.

You are absolutely correct. The dealer that did the engine upgrade has a machine shop and did the head work on site. They know exactly what is in the motor and which cams will work best. They have done the exact same build on many customer's bikes (and most employees) with excellent results.

Skip: Here is my cost for Big Bore stage 11, $1230.20, plus NY tax=1328.61 total. I didn't bother dyno'n, it runs just like I hoped. Any questions, feel free to ask.
