My road king custom had beach bars they were the stock bars, not sure if that is what you are talking about. They took a little getting used to but liked them a lot.

My 06 RK Custom came with beach bars as well, I had a hell of a time getting use to them. Ended up raising the bars(rotating them) up to where them were a little higher and easier to handle. Over time I lowered them bit by bit. Now I believe they are lower than stock adjustment.

Still have them on my '05 RK Custom, my only beef was not being able to lean into the wind at higher speeds because of the way they force you to sit more upright, wind shield install remedied the problem and tight turns can sometimes be a little more challenging.
Other than that they've been fine for me, no back or wrist issues....pic of bike in my profile.

I was uncertain how I would like the beach bars when I bought my RK Custom. I was pleasantly surprised to find them very comfortable. No back strain nor wrist or hand pain and I can ride for hours. Didn't adjust them from theoriginal position from the dealer either.Wouldn't want any other style at this point.

I put WO Chubby 550 beach bars on my 98 Fatboy, and liked them so much I put them on my 06 RK custom. I think they are about 38/39 inches wide.

I have a rk custom, the stock 'beach bars' had to go. They gave me an awful pain in the back. It may because of my height, or riding style, but I love my apes.

But, I think gez45 was talking about real beach bars. Like on aframe2's bike/s. BTW, they look sweet. When I was shopping for a bike, I had the chance to ride a rk with a set on. They were similar to aframe2's bars. For me, they were very hard to get use to, but it is all in how you ride, and the style you want. For me, they were great, almost comfortable, on straight roads, but trying to execute a u turn, I knew they were not the bars for me. But, I have read others say the same for apes, so, to each their own. Heck, I can turn tighter circles with my apes than I could ever do with the stock bars.
