I usually don't rant on riders and I really don't care what you ride, but don't ride like an idiot. Today as I was backing my bike out of the garage I heard a strange noise in the distance coming from the south. As the sound got closer I could tell it was several sport bikes and it sounded like they were going fast. Sure enough, as they rounded the curve before my house I could see a group of about 8 sport bikes traveling well in excess of 100 mph! Funny thing, my wife had just left the house and saw them as she was pulling into her folk's driveway. She saw them passing a group of cars too!
A little while later, as I was at the crash I posted about in another post, I was talking to a guy that lives about 10 miles north of me. He too had seen those sport bikes and they came past his house riding very fast. If a person wants to race they make tracks for that. I like to ride fast too but heck, is it worth a ticket or even worse, having a wreck!
I used to think of these riders as organ donors, but after having been at several accident scenes where they hit cars or guard rails or trees,I've learned that there's usually very little worth savingafter a collision at those speeds.
People have been going fast since motorcycles and cars were first made, I don't think it will change. My Grandparents, parents, and now myself often complain about people driving too fast. The only way to change that would be to take away the vehicles that they go fast on, and I don't like that option myself.
Ive been ridin bikes FAST since before there was sport bikes, that is part of the FREEDOM of ridin. Ride fast ride slow I dont really care how anyone else rides, just dont try messin with my ride.

One of the ways to tell your getting old, you start complaining about people going too fast.
another way is when you become unnaccepting of others who are different, do different things, and do the things you do differently than you.

When you put others at risk your freedom ends.
Exactly.
I don't care what anyone else rides or how fast they ride it until what they do endanger others. Not long ago my wife and I were riding 2 up at a leisurely 85mph, when out of nowhere four sport bikes passed within inches on either side of me going well over 100mph.
Four lanes of wide open straight Southern Florida highway and they obviously made a point of showing upthe Harley folk.
