I have some problems running lean and have been recommended Dyno power commander by HD- what is the general feeling or opinions on the Dyna Power Commanderon a 2000 harley ultra classic?
No the SERT (Screamin Eagle Race Tuner) is not a stock item, however, your local dealer may have it in stock. Last I heard the SERT retails for $459, plus however much they charge for a dyno tune....Usually somewhere in the neighborhood of $600, at leastin my area. A PCIII lists for around $350, but can be found for around $250 if you shop around. I would recommend the PCIII, especially if money is tight, not to mention it is much more user friendly than the SERT.
The lean problem - when its cold it backfires and chokes up alot - it takes 20 minutes to warm up and them 95% of problems go away - I also have problems where certain rpm levels still choke up when the bike is warmed up. Part of the problem the HD dealer says is because someone put on a SE aircleaner but not the pipes or computer.

I think they meant a Dyno tune and Power Commander install. That's surprising since the SERT is what Harley Dealers usually reccommend.
What are"lean problems"? Your Harley is fuel injected, right?
You don't say what you are riding. I doubt what the dealer said is true. It is according to what you want to spend, a cheap fix is a pcIII and a canned map
