Riding Courtesy
Funny on the way to work, I see this rider on a 04 BMW tourer he keeps in his lane and I keep in mine, but we have rode I-70 for so long we know what each other's riding style is andwhateach onewill do when that cage driver in front of uspays moreattentionto the make-up mirror or cellphone then to the road ahead.
Life is easy, living is hard.
If I am riding alone most times I am moving along at a good clip.Any group that passes me is traveling at a pace I don't want to move at.I would think most groups are private. Unless you are asked to join the ride I would back off. Just give them some room to move up the road and enjoy your ride.
If I catch a group of cruiser bikes, I wait until I can pass them safely. However, if there are some people I know in the group, I have joined them sometimes, depends on my mood. Sometimes I jus' wanna be alone. Then I jus' wave at my bros and blast on.
As far as one or three bikes crossing town, I just lay back and keep enuf room to take advantage of the "safety in numbers" thing.
BUT, unless it is a benefit or toy run, I try ta stay away from people I don't know. Not knowing the people on THOSE rides can bebad enuf when they do stupid crap!!! Why push it?
Probably not a big deal if they didn't have on colors and you were on a divided highway. Now if you started to follow them on some back roads and into a gas stop and to eat, then I'ld say you were pushing it. Just don't try and get in the middle of the group. Stay behind the sweep.
