Side-by-side and wheel to wheel ... who still does it?
I've noticed since I started riding again aftera longlayoff that very few groups ride side-by-side anymore, most opting for the (legal) serpentine thing. Even among small groups I find myself with, there might be a couple of us that will wind up side-by-side digging the sound and the vibes after we see the other guy can hold his line, the rest will be spread out to hell's creation. Granted, it might be safer to ride staggered, but I've always ridden pack side-by-side and about a bike length between, and there always seemed to be plenty of room, even in the twistees. It's just odd to see it so rarely now. So ...
What's your preference, and why?
Has it just become habit for most nowadays?
Are the cops handing out tickets in your state for riding formation in a pack?

[8D]Side by side? Are you serious? Where ya gonna go if you have to take evasive action? We have some Blue Knights here that like to ride that way, but, thats just them.
RE: Side-by-side and wheel to wheel ... who still does it?
I don't like to ride side by side, as it doesn't leave room for evasive action, but this one cellphone yacking soccer mom in a Subdivision Utility Vehicle was apparently wanting to ride side by side with me this evening. She seemed offended as I gunned the throttle hard and pulled quickly ahead, because the flashed her high beams. I simply waved and pulled away, politefully declining. I hope my loud pipes didn't disrupt her cellphone conversation. That would break my heart.

Guilty when riding with my brother in law... We have been riding together so long we know what the other is gonna do... But in moderate to heavy traffic staggered.... I didnt say it was right but I am guilty of it at times
