Weekend trip
I made another 3 day'r last weekend and made it down to the Gulf. I left out Thursday afternoon in the pouring rain and rode down to Jonesboro, AR, I got up Fridaymorning and rode through Memphis and then on down to Winona, MS. From there I rode over to French Camp and hit the Natchez Trace Parkway. By this time the rain had stopped and the sun came out for the rest of the trip.
I rode the Trace to Jackson, MS and made it to Gulf Port before dark. I stayed Friday night just north of Biloxi. Saturday morning I got up and rode through Biloxi and then over to Gulf Port on I-90. They sure do have a lot of rebuilding to do down there.
I then rode over to Lake Pontchartrain and rode over the lake to the south. I then I-10 and rode over to Baton Rouge and then up 61 to Natchez, MS. I crossed over the Mississippi River and hit US 425 and took it all the way to Monticello, AR. I spent the night there and got up Sunday morning and rode home.
The entire ride was 1660 miles and I had a great time. I spent $94.00 in gas and $185.00 for motel rooms. I eat cheap so I bet I didn't spend over $25.00 for all my eats. I thought I did good and made this trip pretty cheap. I tried to get a few buddies to go with me so we could split the motel cost but this was a short notice trip and no one was able to get off work.
