I started riding street bikes (Harley) just a few years ago. You just wrote about my most of my life. We bikers only should be able to depend on one another. All new bikers should read and live by it. I have seen too many bikes pass a fellow biker that is on the side of the road. I always stop no matter what the make of the bike. Bikers are a breed of their own. My family cant understand why I drive a vehicle that one slip and I could be killed at 80 MPH on the interstate. Not everyone can be a biker. Not saying they are not as good as us just not the same as us. Most of us bikers I believe are a touch different than Joe car driver no matter if they are a street cleaner or a doctor. I personally have lost almost everything when it comes to family but I still have my brother bikers. I am part of a HOG chapter but just cant bring myself to ride with them often because I am a loner. We bikers because we are different must look out for one another as a family. Leave no brother standed or in trouble. We dont have to live or even like the biker we help. We just have to help them get on their way to their destination, out of a jam, or just give a helping hand. Then say goodbye with a hand shake. I have never met a true biker that will EVER ask for a hand out. If I ever saw a biker in trouble I always had to offer assistance and insist they take my assistance. True bikers are not beggers they have tons of pride no matter what their financial condition. Always help a brother.

An admiral code to live by whether you ride or not, everyone has core values that they live by, integrity, strength, honor, fairness, loyalty, etc. In business, on the road, in personal relationshipsor relating to a perfect stranger, a strong code is really all you have in life, all the rest is fluff and dust in the wind, when your dead and gone, all your cherishedstuffis junk, and the only thing people will remember is how well you lived up to a code of honor that you set for yourself, some set the bar higher than others, nonetheless, strive to be a "knight" in all aspects of life. This post hit a chord for me, and I would have responded to it even if I did not own a bike. It's not a biker credo, it's a life credo.Peace.

I been riding big street bikes since 1980, and I was on dirt bikes since the Z50 days.....I didn't get my car license until I was over 30...only MC at 17, I attended AMS a motorcycle mechanics school in Ca. long before any of these newer places were even thought of. I road a sport bike from Ca to NYC before I turned 20. I have worked in more service departments than I can remember (no kidding).Everyone of my friends know that I live and breath motorcycle's 24/7.
Your post sounded ok....but there is just one thing I have to gripe about......I been wearing Rolex watches exclusively now for about 10 years.....and yes tonight as I was riding home on my CVO Deuce, there was a big bulge under the left arm of my leather jacket....a Rolex Submariner Date in stainless steel. It kicks *** and takes names....i wear it every day and do plenty of wrenching with it on (but only because I dont always remember to take it off) and it still holds up just fine. the only time I will take it off my wrist when I am out of the house is if there is some static that is going to get serious real fast. Yea I wear a Rolex....so what???

Most of us old greybeards just call it being Righteous.
I agree, but it was a GREAT post! I try ta live by that kind of honor, honesty, and integrity.
If ya fail every once in a while, just get back on that pony and ride again. Ya know what I mean?
