Words to live by bro. I've always said that when you're naked before God all you have is your word.
Just a week after I had my bike I'm hauling down the road and it just died. I pulled over to the center and looked and could'nt find anything wrong. An older dude on a Harley passed me and came back a few minutes later after having to turn around a few miles down the road because of the median.
He checks it out and the problem was I has hit the off switch. God I was embarrassed. He said no problem and always remember to help any stranded bro i see.
Something similar happend to me...coming home from visiting my folks in western MD, I pull over to take some pictures of the mountains and a couple of guys on HD's that I had passed on the highway pulled over to see if I needed help, granted I was in my truck, they must have seen my HD sticker on the back window...I thought that it was great that they were checking on me. I'll have to me sure to put a sticker on all my vehicles
[8D]perhaps it was you they were checking out and not the sticker...outlaws love ladies.
I read your post, on the Bikers Code with great interest as my oldest brother, my father and grandfather rode since their youth. Not being old enough to have experienced much of what you spoke about I printed out your CODE and took it down to my dad at the VA Hospital.
He read it carefully, several times, and told me "This is the type person you can ride the roads with. This Code is not spoken of much, nor honored much by way too many so-called bikers, now days. So read it often and keep it in mind at all times...there's truth in it and it's real."
Granddad started riding in the '30's, my dad in the 60's and my brother in the 80's. A prized photo of my dad's was the photo of Granddad, dad and my brother taken in Daytone in 1984 under the Pier all on their own bikes and by own I mean ones they had built. We lost a lot of things in 1998 when Hurricane Georges blew the roof off our home in Alabama and I truely believe this photo being lost was this photo hit him the hardest.
Dad lost about everything during his fight against diamond heads but he kept enough parts to build a bike and he gave them to me on my 16th birthday. He told me he hopes we'll someday ride together on bikes we have built...God knows how I pray this happens.
Thanks again for writing out the Code...it's something else uniting me and my dad.
Great post. Is a woman who rides a "biker" or still a bitch?
Lisa
I consider myself a "biker". And before I became a biker I "rode bitch". (I have to admit to having used the term "biker bitch" on occasion, jokingly with friends). But basically, not just because I ride a bike, but because of my general lifestyle, I do refer to myself as a biker. To me, male or female, if the shoe fits, wear it. And I wear that title proudly. And yes ... awesome post.
That's not a biker credo...that should go for any one worth their salt.
I felt this needed repeating. But it should say "That's not just a biker credo....."
Yep, it SHOULD be the the general mindset that AMERICANS live by, but I see the media and the politicians and others doing their best to destroy realvalues and replace them with their "politically correct" insanity...
I better shut up, this ain't the place fer this discussion... [:-]
Ride safe, ride free, and fight for freedom at every turn. The next rights they take will be yours.

Yep, all good words to live by. I read that somewhere too. But nobody taught that; you know, if I have to explain etc etc. People are different - materialistic and shallow. The best thing about this thread for me is the fact that there are still people who believe. Its the right way to think - Its the right way to live... Peace my brothers and sisters.
