Words to live by bro. I've always said that when you're naked before God all you have is your word.
Just a week after I had my bike I'm hauling down the road and it just died. I pulled over to the center and looked and could'nt find anything wrong. An older dude on a Harley passed me and came back a few minutes later after having to turn around a few miles down the road because of the median.
He checks it out and the problem was I has hit the off switch. God I was embarrassed. He said no problem and always remember to help any stranded bro i see.
Something similar happend to me...coming home from visiting my folks in western MD, I pull over to take some pictures of the mountains and a couple of guys on HD's that I had passed on the highway pulled over to see if I needed help, granted I was in my truck, they must have seen my HD sticker on the back window...I thought that it was great that they were checking on me. I'll have to me sure to put a sticker on all my vehicles
I agree with the code. I'm not an old biker, but I have livedaround bikes and/or bikersall my life. My uncle is an old timer who rides a Harley because he wants to, nut because itis popular. My first ride was on a RK when I was 8. I work hard each day to live by the same codes you've listed. I stop for every broken bike no matter make or model. I hope I can add to the brotherhood, not embarrass it.
Everyone must have forgotten the Help Other code last year when DH and I were coming back from Mexico. We were about 20 milesthis side of the border and DH ran out of gas(grrrrr). He took my bike to go get gas. We were coming from a Rally in Mexico so there were MANY bikes on the road. I counted......47 went by and not a one stopped to ask what up. THREE Border Patrol stopped to ask if they could help!!
WTF???!!
(that is the only time that ever happened though, every other time I have ever been pulled over, someone on a bike has stopped)
Being a Marine, I saw one word in your post that summed it all up. That word isintegrity. You don't see that enough in the biker community or anywhere else these days
Honor, integrity, honesty, my father taught me that. We kid around a lot on this forum, but I'd like to think that down deep you've got what it takes. I hope I do. When I'm not sure I ask myself, what would Dad say? As for calling a woman Bitch. Not around me.
awesome post, ima try to live my life by those standards and morals, not just in biking but every aspect of life. im only 18 by the way, got a ways to go [8D]
