Default Bad time to sell my bike?

Just curious, selling my Heritage softail classic. Just 1 e-mail in over a week on cycletrader. It's an 06 with 3600 miles. Asking 16,500 OBO. Wonderin if this is a bad time to sell. I've sold Honda's in the past and they went in days, with tons of calls. Just curious. Does the price need to drop? Only thing left stock is the pipes.

In general bikes sell slower in the fall, faster in the spring. I just got my UC but am waiting for spring to sell my old bike. Of course there are always exceptions.

Put it up on craigs list. I have sold two bikes there and both sold within a week. Good luck!

Might as well keep it or wait until Spring.....fall and winter are horrible for the seller, but wonderful for the buyer.

In general, the Harley and including the entire motorcycle market....is totally flooded. Hard to sell them no matter what right now.....ebay, craigslist, cycletrader, Hdtrader....doesn't matter. It is just plain difficult to get what you want out of it.

Crazy.....new ones are sometimes less than used ones.

This is probably true unless you live in a year around riding area like Arizona.

I don't know about timing but the last time I sold a bike I ran it locally in the paper for several weeks and had one person look at it. I then put it on eBay and sold it for $500.00 more than I was asking for it in my want ad. (02 BMW R 1150 RT)

Just a thought !

Evo is correct, I know here in the Midwest the market is absolutely flooded with late model low mileage Harleys.
With the economy going in the crapper, forclosuers and high fuel and cost of living going sky high, the toys are the first to go.
It is definitly a buyers market, and I think it could get much worse brfore it gets better.

You never know. Right person, right bike: done deal. I had no luck trying to sell my Dyna starting early this fall. Took it off the market and decided to ride it for another year or two - going to have some fun with it and earn that depreciationbefore I take any hit on the thing.
Sold my Sportster locally in 3 days for top dollar this summer to the first guy who looked at it.
Hopefully, you don't have to sell it and can afford to wait. Good luck.
