I actually dont see what you're talking about. Not to the extent that your post seems to indicate. Sure some guys have a bitch about this or that, but generally the huge majority of folks here are quite pleased with their bikes.
As for me this has been a fantastic and highly reliable motorcycle in every way. I couldn't be more satisfied with it's quality, reliability, etc.
First of all, how could someone bitch about a Harley without owning one? Of course people are going to complain about theirHD here.
Most of the debating I see on here is between people whoknow motorcyclesand people whodon't.If you know bikes, and honestly believe HD is for you, than I'm cool with that. In fact, that's exactly what I am.
I think most of the friction on this site is caused by people who can't understand or can't accept realistic debates about motorcycles in general.
In short, a constant battle between motorcycle enthusiasts and HD posers.
Big diff between someone just slammin any bike and being upset over a problem they cant get solved in a resonable fashion. I have seen mostly the latter but agree, why come here if it is the former?
As to the question about people bitching about a Harley and not owning one...some folks will bitch about anything. They dont really need a reason, they bitch just to hear themselves I guess.
Example - I was on Temporary Duty in Hawaii, stationed in a remote site (Alaska) with no family/wifey (and hadn't seen them for nearly 7 months), some guys were there bitching about being stationed in Hawaii. I just looked at them and shook my head and walked away.

Couldn't agree with you more about folks bashing their bikes. That being said, I think that a number of them do it here because they know that they'll have at least a semi-sympathetic ear and quite often, find a solution to their problem. As for the trolling bit, I think that's just a misunderstanding because of theperiodic posts from peoplewho've come on and done just that trying to get a rise out of some of our fellow Harley riders. That and throw in the occasional post from someone who just has to bitch; like the people that Fahpah mentioned. Take care out there and enjoy the ride on the best machine that there is.
I am fairly new to this forum, but have noticed a surprising number of people post here that sing the praises of other bikes over the Harleys that they say they own.
From what I know of this man he certainly isnot a troll and I think he posts a valid conclusion.
I believe most of the posts ripping HD's are from non-HD owners or owners who have no idea what to expect from their new bike. Obviously they did little to no research before they bought the bike and now they hate the 5th gear whine or whatever.
As for trolls, theyare obvious to spot after a few posts. We just had one recently that wished he would have bought a Goldwing instead of his 4 Harleys.
We had a saying in the Marines - "A bitchin Marine is a happy Marine." I think the same expression applies to HD owners. I love my family, but will bitch about them, on occasion. That doesn't mean I don't love them anymore. I love my bike, am very satisfied with it and have no complaints. That said, I'm getting new slip-onsthis weekend!!!
