I live down about a mile of gravel road and I was coming home from a toy run on Sunday and there was a squirrel in the road and one in the ditch. I slowed down and tried to guess which way he was going to run, well he didnt. I was on my Electra glide, the rear break locked, the azz end came around to the right and I put down my left foot and it grabbed the gravel and twisted my leg and knee, shoved my toes into the steel toe on my boot and made my knee do **** it wasnt suppose to. Well I missed the squirrel but now my left knee is swelled up and hurts like hell. I know those F'kin squirrels are up there in the ditch doing high fives and ****. I missed him this time but next time im smoking his ***. Got one last toy run next weekend and Im gonna be really pissed if my knee isnt better. Sorry for the rant but just wanted to let everyone know, these little bastards are for real!

I don't stop for squirrls.....matter a fact it is the only animal have ever hit and killed.....and that was onmy bike. If it's between my well being and a small animal, and I have no safe out (sliding to a stop in not really safe)...the animal is in trouble.
I have one for ya. Yesterday I was pulling out of the parking lot at work with the company Suburban, drove about 150 ft and a Deer lands in the middle of my windsheild. He was running like hell at a 90deg angle and I guess jumped, cleared the hood but the windsheild is busted bad. Scared the hell out of me...never saw him till he was almost in my lap. I see them all the time around here and it makes me wonder what kind of mark it's gonna leave when one gives me a bodycheck when I'm on the bike.
Those pesty little creatures don't scare me, but their cousin, the deer clan, not that is another story. Had one jump between my wife and another new rider not too long ago. All I could do was pray, wife handled it, but had to stop and let her heart slow down.

a coworker once told me if I saw a squirrel, especially the ones that run out in the road then look like they cant make up their mind to go across, turn around, or just **** and go blind, to hit your horn a couple times. snaps them out of their mindless wondering and scoots them the way they intended to go.
personally, I'd just as soon run them down, turn around, and run them down again.
