This is an HD forum. I could not care less about any other brand X bike. Shoot, I don't even care for the Twinkie-motored bikes HD's putting out now. I have learned to tolerate my Evo.
About the only comparison I care to make is that every one of my daily-rider HDs went over 100k miles, and one of 'em went over 200k miles. All of 'em are still on the road somewhere. None of my ridin' buds who rode any type of brand x bike can say that.
Y'know, there's nothing wrong with wanting to go "x" fast. But because something doesn't go that fast doesn't mean it's a POS. The things will get way up over the speed limit and do it way faster than 99% of the cages. Why do you "need" more than that? (Remember, that's "need", not "want."
Ahh, the heck with it. Too many times lately this joint has been showing me why the over-popularity of anything kills the spirit of it.

Next time decide what you want before you buy, and it would help if you knew what you were buying. Harleyshave been slow since you were born, so really, who's fault is it?
What can we say that you alreadyhaven't. Your a retard. Maybe your so stupid you don't even know your stupid? The only thing slower then your Harley is you.
Harley has the one big thing going for them...MARKETING. They know we will pay 15 to 25K for a bike that has no sound, moderate power at best, and little bling. They also know we will fork out a small fortune to make it sound, run, and look better. I would be willing to bet my next paycheck that if folks would stop buying their bikes, quitacessorizing them, and stop adding things such as big bore kits, hotter cams, etc.their prices would drop and they would probably have more oomph stock.....Just my 2 pennies worth.

I was pretty disappointed with my stage 1 mods when I headed up some mountain passes at 11K ft and the bike would barely do over 65 mph.
Umm, you do know how to down shift don't you?
I mean, I can hit 65mph in second gear for Lord's sake!

Add to marketing, 105 years of tradition and that Harley mystique. Difficult for other companies to compete with that, regardless of how good their product is. People want the genuine article and they associate that with HD. Kinda like buying a genuine Colt 1911 .45 pistol.
I forked out, like most other folks. I don't regret it, happy with my bike now. I hope by the time I wear out my deuce they have something still looks good and makes good power without putting a lot of extra $$ into it.

I'd be willing to bet if all the people who apparently don't know how to shop for a bike that suits their needs or wants would disappear we wouldn't have to listen to all the daily whining new threads about how disappointed they are with their purchase. Buy a different bike. How much simpler could it be? There are tons of other makes available nowadays, and I myself might even buy a V-Max or some other high powered Jap Trap cruiser one day too, but you ain't gonna hear me bitching about being so ****ing stupid I bought a $15,000 or higher TOY (because that's what most on this board bought them for - don't lie) that I didn't have the common sense to make sure suited my wants and needs first. Gimme a break. How stupid are you with your money? It's pretty much that simple, like it or not.
How much longer will this nonsense go on? Next whiner? Batter up!

I mentioned earlier- this was at about 11,000 feet and probably over a 10% grade. Less oxygen up there, bikes run different despite EFI. Somewhere around Steamboat springs Colorado. That's wonderful you can hit 65 mph in second gear. Do you know how to up shift?
