I don't worry about it. My 05 is still clean and I ride every winter. I do try to avoid the slop though. I'm with you, bikes for riding. Can't stand to have it up in the garage.

yes. You. Routine cleaning, high jet pressure waches on the underside of youre bike, and a nice "Blue Magic" crome polish and you will be fine.

Without opening the "Best way to clean" can of worms, just pick any name brand chrome cleaner/polish and use it regularly. Like Sith said, you are the best protection against corrosion.

I'd be real cautious about using a pressure washer on a bike................not good if you blast away too much at all the exposed surfaces around the engine/trans. I also ride year round.........05 EGC no probs so far. Like they already said, YOU are the best protection. Take your time and make sure and clean everything. Mine still looks new.

I won't ride if there is salt on the roads. I was bit by that in 2002 and it pitted my wheels and ate up the chrome. Never again.

All you can do is keep it polished with the right stuff and not worry. You will probably trade it before it ever bothers you.

SALT IS EVIL! Sure you could clean it, but unless you have a heated garage, who wants to clean their bike in 20 degree weather? Call me lazy, but mine will stay stored until the salt is gone from the roads. Bring on the Spring rains (only 3-4 months away here in Wisconsin) [:@]
