The little lady and I drove over to Butte (MT) yesterday, about a 2 hour drive and paid our respects to Evel, they had a real nice ceremony for him. There were a few celebrities there that shared some of their experiences with him, they had some good stories to tell. They had a display of some of his photos, a truck of his and his headstone was there also. But no bikes of his, I was kind of surprised. There were 3000-5000 people there, depending on who you talk to. Here are links to some photos we took and one that was in the paper this morning:
Very entertaining fellow as I was growing up, but he lost something for me when he built a rocket and labeled it as a bike.
Looking at the pictures it appears he is still trying to be entertaining and has a Vegas appeal to the funeral.
Huge brass *****, good marketing, entertaining. Angels fly with wings he will fly with a bike.
They put the rocket on his headstone! Ok, just me, or is that weird? Maybe he thought that was the penicle or something, but I would think a motorcycle would be there! I'm also surprised they didn't bury him in his "costume". I watched some of this on TV. Maybe they will air more. It was interesting. He sure made a lot of people want to ride and have fun! The father of daredevil, that's for sure.
