Default RE: "The Calling"

Not too long after we first started riding in 2003, we made our first long distance trip to Land between the Lakes. We went 998 miles altogether in four days. It just made us hungry for more adventure, so we made plans to do the Natchez Trace. Our vacation plans were made, and a tropical storm was heading north in Mississippi. We thought about waiting for the storm to pass but remembered the Life is either a daring adventure or it's nothing phrase and put on our rainsuits and rode. We rode for 1 and 1/2 days through solid rain until we got to Tupelo and the sky cleared. We once again loved the trip and decided to go to Bike Week in 2006. It is so much fun to see the country on a motorcycle. Now, I'm wanting to ride down to the Southwest Florida area where I grew up and show my wife where I used to hang out at Boca Grande and Pine Island . We have been talking about riding to Sturgis in '09. If I were to stroke out today and never be able to ride again, I'll still have happy memories of our trips that we have made. Do it while you are still young.

You must obey The Calling! It is the LAW of the Baby Boomers!

I'm 29, no 33, no 38, no 44, no.....ok 50something!!! and I'll be right behind you. My dream is to take off and meet lots of people I have met on the net! Who needs to camp or motel! You get to meet great people along the fabulous ride! I work full time, so I am going to take some of September and October off. Hey maybe they will fire me!!! Yippee!

BTW, my mother, who is 82 has these friends, a couple, that are 84 and 82, and they have been doing a cross country every year for a gazillion years!! I hope they stop by this year to talk with our chapter, they have some great stories. She rides a Heritage, he rides a mod HD Trike.

The only problem in doing one of these trips is.......... It only makes you want to do more of them, so you better haul *** now and get started.
