I have 2 Tomtom Ones (wife too)& just replaced them both with Garmin Nuvi 350's at 299.00. No comparision in my opinion. My Ones never held a charge for more than 30 minutes. If I didn't use it for a few days & wanted to turn it on in a pinch is was always dead & I had to plug it it. The Garmin holds a charge for weeks & last 5-6 hours on a charge. The text to speach is great to & it is easier to read over the One. There is a Garmin 250 without text to speach that's cheaper. I gave the One's to my kids though as they do work & will come in handy.

BTW, I useit in my car & take it on my bike in my pocket just in case I need it, that's why I the 5-6 hours of charge is great. For long trips I would buy the Zumo.

I went with the Tom Tom Rider 1st edition. It's ok. Has the blue tooth feature and touch screen control. The thing I think they should have done is for the Rider it should take all the back roads and use the more popuar routes for the optional one. However you don't buy one for $149.00. The Rider Two cost around $600.00.

My 1st GPS was a TomTom One. I had it with us on a trip to northeast Nebraska and the Black Hills. It was ok until we got out in the boonies and it was trying to take us down "minnium maintainence roads". These are roads made only for 4X4 vehicles. Also, the maps wernt up to date. After that, I lost confidence in it and replaced it with a Garmin Nuvi. Couldnt be happier. I know it wasnt designed for a bike but it works well and mounts solid in the old TomTom Ram mount.

Guess the old saying "you get what you pay for" applies to GPS units. Will reconsider. Thanks for the helpful info and mouting photos.

I have downloaded the latest software for my TomTom One and haven't had any problems and it is very accurate in every situation I have been in. Even in remote areas it displays all the roads correctly.

As for holding a charge, couldn't tell you on that one because I keep it plugged into the cig lighter on the bike when I am using it.
