Default service manual

I have been looking on the net for a repair manual for my 2005 fxst. I have found some for 1999-2003. Was wondering if anyone has seen any out there? i would think they would be in print by now.

Default RE: service manual

just picked up the manual for my 03 Heritage and my wife's 06 883L the other day. Never bothered before - anything beyond fluid changes and simple upgrades I've let the shop do until now. The manuals are a bit pricy - but seem well written and worth it if you plan on doing any serious work on your ride.

I would think that the 2005 is too new. Just my opinion and I hope I'm wrong. Tim

You can get an OEM Service manual. I took delivery of my 06 FLHTC and bought a service manual the same day.

Save your money on the aftermarket manuals. Get the HD one for your Dyna, they're about $50.00 or so, your year is definitely available by now. The first time you use it you'll have saved enough coin to more than pay for the book, plus everything you do after that is gravy. It gets you real familiar with the bike's workings and gives you a great deal of information. If you get stuck, check in here, we'll be glad to help with whatever problem you can't find an answer for.

One other suggestion is to get the OEM parts manual for the bike, it is an invaluable reference for cross checking parts, see what is actually on your bike, etc. The factory service manual has electrical and wiring diagrams also that are a great reference.

Look on ebay. They have many reprints that are a lot cheaper than original manuals. Bought mine there for like $15. Just got to luck out.
