Default Classified Issue

So I go and post a "WANTED" ad in the classified section for a lousy jacket. I didn't check it out for a couple days and when I did I found it was deleted. Upon further reading of the rules I found out I had to be a member for more than 30 days (which I am) and have more than 25 posts (which I don't) Ok I can under stand the reasoning for this but I was looking to "BUY" an item not sell. In the "rules" it states "You may NOT post if you are a business or a person using the forum solely for financial profit." well it wasn't for profit just looking to buy. Now you would think that would be a good thing for the vendors at least. I guess this leaves me the choice of posting "Welcome Aboard" commentsby the dozens which I see on here that have to be for the sole purpose of uping the posting totals of some (not all) people here. I'm sorry but I do ride, work, play, and have a family and can't spend that much time posting. This is a great site but it shouldn't be a popularity posting contest. I guess I'll be banned for stating my opinion now. I'm sorry, that just ticked me off.

Some rules seem a little tight sometimes. I do all my Selling on EBay. People tell me to use this forum or Craigs List. I don't see any advantage to either. I've sold stuff into HongKong the UK and many other places. I can't get that type of response from the others. I've had two people want an item so bad it sold for twice what it was worth. I listed a table saw in a local news paper that went into three other cities for two weeks. No luck got one call. I put it on EBay and a guy 110 mile away bought it and I got more out of it than I was asking in the paper. EBay works for me, selling anyway. Never tried a want ad.

These rules are about as simple as it gets,, if you post in classifieds, you must have 25 posts non related to the classifieds, sell, buy whatever,, the forum here isn't just for selling and buying, it's a HD motorcycle community, the classifieds are a service/favor for our participating members,,, get your posts in and buy sell all you want to, get to know some folks around here,,, lots of good info and good people here.

If you have complaints or issues take them to PM to any of the admin or mods and not here in the open forum. These rules pertain to everyone here, not just you so don't take it so personal. BTW welcome the forums.

Just a moment while I slip out of my regular member key board and step into my Moderator Keyboard.

The HD Forum has been around a lot longer than you have been here Bob. I really don't think admin is going to change the rules just for you. Out of all the posts that I move out of the Classifieds for one reason or another, there is always the occasional person who thinks we are here just for their personal use at their convenience. If ya don't like it, perhaps you can establish your own web page and offer up free Classifieds for anyone who wants to us it, at your expense.

Other than that, enjoy the forum, make some friends, see what's going on in your area then come on back and post in the Classifieds Section when you are qualified.

Once againI may have misunderstood the"RULE" which states "You may NOT post if you are a business or a person using the forum solely for financial profit." clearly I am not and while I may have missed the "25 posts" rule I thought I was following the "rules." ....."If I Don't Like It"......That's a little rough ain't it?

Your words from you first post,,,This is a great site but it shouldn't be a popularity posting contest. I guess I'll be banned for stating my opinion now. I'm sorry, that just ticked me off.

That was a little rough too don't you think,, if you don't have time to post here you can always just lurk,, apparently you do have time to post and complain over petty childish stuff,,,, you know the rules now,, post here and enjoy or if you just want to complain and not follow the rules, then maybe this site isn't for you,,, it is a great site,, it's free, tons of money saving info,,, it's up to you to enjoy/ take advantage of it or not, we have tons of members that do enjoy it. No one is holding you here, it's up to you.
