Just talked to my dealer and they will honor the promotion but they want 3 hrs labor to install and a dealer from a nearby town wants 1 1/2 hrs What is up with that? Do they not have a standard shop rate?

HD has some gimmick with this elbow grease program. I had my IDS installed on the 1st day of the elbow grease program and it was the last time I could ride for the season as I live in Northeast. I froze riding that day, but knew that would be only day I could do it due to climate. That elbow grease program should be during the warm riding season where everyone has the opportunity to take advantage of it, not just the minority warm weather climates. HD did that on purpose. joke.

I suspect that they did it in the winter because that's when most dealer service departments are slow and they want to generate some business. I'm having a 103" SE kit and chrome front end installed in January.

I normally do my own maintenance, but my dealer has 20% off parts and labor for the 103" kit and with the elbow grease program, I decided to let them do it. Keeps my warranty in tact as well.

Jim, sounds right. They should restart the program during summer months as well.

Ask your dealer or any dealer to show you what HD pays on warranty claims on an IDS.It pays an hr.as some have posted here.

I had the IDS installed today and teh dealer's service department charges 72 an hour. When it was all figured out they charged hourly to make it exactly 100.08 and they 'forgave' the 8 cents making installation free for the IDS. I had the rear tire changed out as well since it had less than 2000 miles remaining and that way the back end only comes apart once.

WOW what a difference the IDS makes. Its like a totally different bike.
