I have a 2007 ultra classic and want to replace antennas with the 13"
or the 18". Which would you recommend. Is one better than the other?
I was going to get J&M antennas. Is there another brand better? Just looking for ideas. Thanks electraglide in blue
There are a lot of antenna's out there. I would suggest J&M's. Good antenna and FLEXIBLE.
Some companies have stainless steel ones, but if they get bent, you're screwed.
Go Cheap
I went to Auto Zone and bought two smaller rubber antennas for less than $20.00. I have not ever used the CB so I dont know if they work on the CB. I like the look and fact that I dont drag the top of the garage on the way in.
I've had J&P's for the past year. You will lose range on both FM and CB reception. FM reception will drop on the "fringe" areas. CB broadcast and reception is not more than 1/2 mile. I ride several "large" rides (35 plus riders) each year, so it's easy to compare the different systems. J&P's look good, but in this case, bigger is better.
I tried the eglide goodies version, but the CB antenna broke eventualy from too much flexing. AM/FM was fine. I replaced the CB with the J&M one, and it works real good. Better design and more effective too. I will replace the AM/FM antenna too, for the identical look, but it won't be an improvement in reception.
