Wow, after my 55,000 miles with my bag under the headlight on my 97fxdwg, I better get down and thank my lucky stars that my bike still runs. I sure hope I can find you on the road to help me take care of my stuff. Any more great ideas to help me out?

If you read my post I said mounting them where it would hamper the cool air from getting to the front cylinder or voltage regulator on bikes that already run much too hot. I dont recall saying mounting them on the forks would block cool air....but then again I guess guys as cool as you, with all them miles on their bike aint never got a problem with cool air....hot air....well thats another story....you got plenty.
Hey you never know though.....you want my number I guess I can help out a brother broke down on the side of the road....why not. You planning on passing through the NYC area any time soon?
Personally, I don't have one because I ride an Ultra and haven't seen the need to mount one, but if I did something tomy bike that wasn't a good idea and someone pointed it out to me in a non-condenscending tone, I'd be grateful.
I agree with you Wildcat68. Hell, my fender had to be chopped off anyway due to a 45 MPH meeting with the pavement. And that yellow ribbon on the gas tank is covering a dent from the same crash. I'm not going to loose much sleep over a possible nick on the fender from the forkbag.

Rh, I don't try to intentionally inflict damage upon my bike but, I am not gonna lose sleep over every ding/scratch. I try to keep it all in perspective, if you use something it is gonna show signs of wear/tear. I am not a show bike kinda guy and I have much more important things to concern myself with.
Wow - another BS internet myth, - Toolbags and overheating...
I ran an 75' Ironhead Sporty with a tool bag mounted down below the framerails in front of the engine and voltage regulatorand anotherfork bag under the bottom triple tree for 60k and 4yrs with zero problems.
Did the exact same thing for an 80" Evo FXR for 11 yrs and over 100k without an issue. All of this was done riding in NYC, North Jersey and up and down the East coast.
