I wonder if air travels around the bag or it just stops there. What about touring bikes with full fairings, tree style lights & fat front fenders, how does the air get through?

Wow, after my 55,000 miles with my bag under the headlight on my 97fxdwg, I better get down and thank my lucky stars that my bike still runs. I sure hope I can find you on the road to help me take care of my stuff. Any more great ideas to help me out?
If you read my post I said mounting them where it would hamper the cool air from getting to the front cylinder or voltage regulator on bikes that already run much too hot. I dont recall saying mounting them on the forks would block cool air....but then again I guess guys as cool as you, with all them miles on their bike aint never got a problem with cool air....hot air....well thats another story....you got plenty.
Hey you never know though.....you want my number I guess I can help out a brother broke down on the side of the road....why not. You planning on passing through the NYC area any time soon?
You ain't tryin' to help a brother out, you're demeaning someone who doesn't feel as you do. There's a big frickin' difference in condescension and live and let live. One is lending a brother your wrench, and the other one is telling him which way to turn it.

Great Question Golf Blues!
I guess my 19 yr. old FLHT is going to immediatly overheat the next time I ride it due to all the stuff up front blocking the air.

Wow - another BS internet myth, - Toolbags and overheating...
Back in 2003, me and the wife road around South Dakota, Wyoming and Colorado, 2 up with camping gear on my '91 Sturgis.
Her Sleeping Bag was mounted on the front fender under the headlight. It was hot riding back from Sturgis through Medicine Bow, Wy.

Scuffed the front fender, but the twins ran fine.

Maybe Harley should mount those cylinders in opposing directions, so the front one won't block the cooling air to the back one.
...oh yeah, that's been done.

Love my swing arm bag.

And my little bag that goes under the crash bars. Mine's under the voltage regulator thing. Or at least I think that's what that thing is.

And I got 2 tool bags in chrome, on either side of the scoot. Although, I don't keep tools in 'em.

What causes me to smile are the bags located under the headlights that will eventually take its toll on the top of the front fender.
Mine never hit the fender even under full compression, till one of my staps broke cause I had 10lbs of tools in it and not a big enough strap.
Harley makes a tool pouch that has a bracket attached to the pouch. It mounts to the headlight bolt underneith the triple tree. This elimnate the broken strap problem, and I have had no problems with fender scratces, im just not sure if they make them for all modles. Sorry RB didnt mean to e-mail still trying to catch on to the posting stuff.
