know what you guys mean. I did my first practice session this past week for about 30 minutes doing u-turns, head and eyes where I want to go. I find myself still looking down and then looking further back and down range if that makes any sense. I'm getting it done, just feel like its still ugly though.
Had a chance to see the Motorman do a live demo recently.
Truly amazing what they do on the bikes (baggers no less). When you see the women riders do the turns and stuff while two-up you realize there may be some more thingsyou canlearn. I seem to have to work harder to get the moves down when turning right. Motorman's wife saidthat's very common- just keep doing it.
I have rlp#3 and try to practice at least once a month.
The instructor here has a course painted on a parking lot in town. Its really nice to jump down there once or twice a week and blow off an hour working on the basics.
I was also thinking about buying the DVD....and possibly taking a course here locally. Not so much to learn anything, but to possibly un-learn some bad habits. I just hope with this instruction I am told "why" I should/shouldn't do something one way or another, as opposed to just getting told to justdo it this way, because this is the right way to do it. I am always willing to accept instruction....and I love to learn new things.....this goes double for anything related to riding/wrenching, but I have a strong need to know the "whys & what for", and if not given that info I tend to disbelieve or doubt anything.......this is only if the lesson at hand is so obviously self explanatory that no further explanation is needed.
I would love to buy this DVD but I could not, because it does not have closed caption or subtitle. Anyone who knows about captions on DVD. Please leave comment.
Thanks, MHRider
Looks like a good watch...
Been riding most of my life on various types of bikes, also have two MSF course under the belt.
Wife is a new rider and recent grad of MSF.
True believer that there is always something new to learn.
I'll be ordering mine today.
I've had 7 bikes over the years including a chopper in my early days. Looking at all these positive posts convinced me that perhaps I could learn something that could save my life. I ordered today.
I personally suggest everyone get a copy of that disk. That is the best money you can buy for riding. I had been riding large street bikes for 25+ years and I learned a lot from this when I got it this last summer.
Just because you ride it doesn't mean you know how to ride.

MH, I posted your inquiry over at Motormans forums and got an answer almost immediately.
He said the cost of close captioning is cost prohibitive for a small business. Can be upwards of 10K.
He said he's still looking for a company that would do it at a cost he can afford.
There is always something new to learn. I have been riding various bikes for 30 years and when I watch that dvd you always see something new. I also have 2 sons who ride and "make" them watch it also.
