Default Traffic light viewer?

In the list of accessories you can see them: what were they for?
I mean, ok, it seems to "view traffic lights", but HOW they work?

This is a guess on my part only. They are for low roofed coupes that, when stopped up front at the limit line make it difficult to see the traffic light which is almost overhead. They mount on the dash of your car and refract the color of the overhead light so you can see it. IMHO

I have seen several aftermarket manufacturers including Kuryakyn advertise taillights and brakelights for motorcycles with Blue Dot. They advertise it like it is supposed to be something special; however, I cannot figure out what make the Blue Dot any different than a reqular taillight/brakelight. I notice no difference; so, I'm wondering the same thing. What is the big deal with Blue Dot?

They had them on hot rods with chopped tops so they could see the light. They went on the visor, or the dash. They were kind of a prism type deal I believe.

They were very popular back in the 40's and 50's. They are a prisim that attached to your dash and you could see the traffic light. Remember those 40's and early 50's cars had visors above the windshield or a lot of them did. It saved your neck and back trying to see the light while stopped. My dad had one on his '49 olds.
