I think that ABS would be a better idea to have mandatorythan helmets..
The majority of motorcycle accidents are between 40 and 25. If we could get the impact to say 10 to 15 mph with helmet use. A lot of people would get up and walk off rather than a trip to the doctor.
I don't think it's entirely a matter of knowing how to handle your brakes.
Sometimes, you get in those situations and all your education in the world means nothin', and all you have time to do is react.
No thinkin' involved, much as a karate move, you just hope you react in the appropriate manner, given your training, if you have had any, and are ready for it. Most aren't.

... Im so sorry if you take my post as being condescending. Im just giving out the facts I know. Man I wish someone would of educated me in the beginning. It could of saved me a lot of scares.
Gah, no need to apologize (not even when it's laced with sarcasm ) ... it's just weird to see that oftentimes, you're bringing up interesting topics, but instead of informing people and/or initiating an engaging discussion, it looks like you're merely out to push "knowledge", which doesn't help anything or anyone.
I think the abs system is probably alot more effective anti locking system than I am.
However, I would like the optionof sliding the *** end out, and laying it down in a no win situation. This is something not possible with a brake system that will not "lock up". Keep it optional.
If your going to have an impact and it's unavoidable. You would rather go over the hood than sliding. Your going to come to an abrupt stop up side the BIKE & CAR .
No, you are not! When you slide the bike is absorbing the speed, slowing you down, it may not be all of the speed, but it is something. Plus you can role once you let go off the bike since you are now much closer to the ground!.
When you hit a car you go from speed to 0 in a fraction of a second, THAT is what hurts.
Speed doesn't kill, it's the sudden STOP that does!

Just my impression ...
Im sorry if I come across that way. I figure Facts are better than anything. It's hard to argue with facts. I in no way want anyone to feel like im trying to be a smarta*s. Im sorry if I came across that way.
