Shouldn't ABS be mandatory ? Test have proven over and over that in a emergency situation 98 % of all motorcyclist only have one chance to break let alone adjust for breaking conditions. The ABS breaking system will make adjustments many times per second.
Back in the day, I used to own a couple Mustangs... 5 of them over the years.
One of my Mustang friends that did alot of road course racing coined a phrase that I still believe in.
"Traction control and Anti-locks brakes are for people who can't drive."
Sadly enough, that is about 85% of the people on the road right now.
Ask the average Joe Driver what "power assisted oversteer" is and he will look at you funny.
I think the abs system is probably alot more effective anti locking system than I am.
However, I would like the optionof sliding the *** end out, and laying it down in a no win situation. This is something not possible with a brake system that will not "lock up". Keep it optional.

Jeez ... why is it that ... **cough** ... a lot ... **cough** ... of your posts are phrased in such a patronizing tone? Do you not realize that all you're doing is inciting a slug-fest ... or is that what you plan on doing every time you start a thread?

Mind you, I am by no means saying that it should be mandatory ... "optional" is just fine by me. That being said though ... that and/or similarly negative stuff has been said about almost any type of technological advancement since the dawn of time ... if it were up to some of those folks, we'd still be living in caves.

If your going to have an impact and it's unavoidable. You would rather go over the hood than sliding. Your going to come to an abrupt stop up side the BIKE & CAR .
