I'm embarassed to admit it, but after 20 years of riding motorcycles on the street, I finally broke down and bought a pair of chaps last weekend. It has been very cold with the artic system that blew in. I left my house Saturday morning at 7am and it was 47 degrees. I was going between 70-80mph on the freeway so if you take in to account the wind chill factor, it was below freezing temps. Also it had been raining on and off during the day and the night before. Anyway, I got to my destination for a day long ride and EVERYONE had chaps. Me? Oh I just show up in Jeans, Leather Jacket, Boots, Gloves and a GREEN RAINSUIT. I looked like a giant booger amongst a bunch of bikers. It was at that point in time I decided to buy a pair of chaps. I will admit, they do cut down on the wind chill factor substantially. Oh and by the way....YES, I do feel like a sexy biatch! [sm=jawdrop.gif]

My wife and I both have and wear them. Don't really care what other people think, they don't pay my bills - WE DO!! We bought them for the protection, the cold, and hey we have had fun with the image. Some people think since we ride bikes we are bad people. Why not feed their ignorance, it's a dirty job, but some body has to do it.

I have a pair of leather "over-pants" from Jafrum.com. Great price, comfortable, snap on the bottom and zip up the side. Can't be beat.

I wear them until It gets too hot, usually over 80. Think I'll go to the draggin jeans or kevlar denim from Duluth for the hot summer. I like the idea about lined chaps, have to find some.
