Screwball, I'm staying out of this one.

Zig

Hopefully it will stay more civil over here. But probably not nearly as entertaining!

A lot more calm here! Sometimes not as much fun, but a whole lot less cyber fist fights.[:-]

I'm sure your right Heather, but it was fun for several days.

I wear mine when the temp drops below the 90's (about half the year here).

Been down on 'em once, definitely saved me some skin.

During the summer, there just isn't much choice except to leave them off though. At 100F+, you will steam-cook yourself in leather.

I had the folks at www.phssaddlery.com make me custom chaps a little of a year ago, nice chaps, great quality, but I only wear them when it's 50F or lower.

Bought a pair of denim chaps with kevlar reenforcement in the knees at Bikefest in Las Vegas a couple of years ago. Good over shorts in the heat to save your skin. If you can handle the giggles from your family (I couldn't) they work well.

Used to wear them in the cold. Now I wear flannel lined jeans from LL Bean or my Gortex lined jeans from Cabellas. I think I stay warmer and don't have to deal with the extra load. Just my opinion.
